Girl Power

Claudia and her new "Spree"

Eloise working on her floating

Hee Haw!!  Way to go girls!!

We have made the leap to power here at the Rank house.  Magically we were able to time the arrival of our converted van for Thursday and the arrival of the power chair for today!  It was very satisfying to see Claudia's smile as she took off in her red "Spree".  And I'm proud to say that we have loaded her up with the family and all gone out to dinner together.  Claudia's favorite feature of the chair has to be the speed, but mine by far is the seat elevator component.  For the first time Claudia was able to sit at the restaurant table at the same height as her family.  That all being said, the loading is a bit of a trick.  (I'll try to get some photos of the inside of the van soon)  It involves: opening both sides and rear entry of the van, unloading the ramp in the back, Claudia drives up the ramp and is tied into her four restraints on the floor, both of the babies are snapped into their seats besides Claudia, Eloise hops in behind Claudia, we lower the back bench (that was previously stowed off to the side), install Eloise's carseat, fasten Eloise in, finally squeeze out the back and buckle myself in.. phew!  If there were an Olympic sport for loading four children into a van, I would be very competitive.
Thankfully we have had some extra hands to help with the kids while Matt and I have been learning the ropes.  Grandma Martha and Grandpa John are here from Nebraska.
In other news the girls have wrapped up an awesome session of therapeutic horseback riding with RideAbility.  The last night they were awarded trophies topped with horses that they are extremely proud to sport around.  We also finished up music lessons and swimming this week.  The girls each had very positive experiences and improved their own individual skills.
Hope you enjoyed the photos of our super power girls!

Take care and keep the pics coming. Congrats to Claudia on her new wheels! They sure look fancy. And how nice that she can function more easily with your family when you're out and about. Awesome.
