Sitting UP

For five years, my Claudia has been working to sit herself up.  Tonight with just enough perseverance, strength, and encouragement she has done it!  Hooray for Claudia!

(on a side note the adult ladybugs have emerged-spots begin to show with a few hours)

Ladies and Larvae

Quite to my surprise, we have all been fascinated by the metamorphosis (egg, larva, pupa, adult) that these Colleomegilla maculata have been going through.  The photo above is a larva changing into a pupa.  The girls were able to watch the larva attach themselves, swell, and gradually shed their outer coating to officially become pupa. 

They may not be ladybugs but they are certainly ladies to me.  Preparing for dance photos this Saturday.

Post Home Depot birdhouse building

Everyone has been eagerly awaiting warm weather.  We were blessed this weekend with sunshine and rain.  The whole family soaked up the sun on Saturday and worked on a few projects.  Sunday while it was raining we peeked inside of Claudia's birdhouse to find a few sprigs of grass.  We're hoping to have a resident soon and a few sprouts to greet the friends.
